Your vehicle is new or freshly corrected
A coating preserves the condition it finds. Applied now it keeps good paint good — in two years it will keep mediocre paint mediocre.

A chemically cross-linking protective layer on the paint — water-repellent, easier to clean, with a service life we state together with its conditions rather than as a wishful number.
A ceramic coating is a silicon-based layer that cross-links chemically on the clear coat and forms a thin, water-repellent protective film. It cures through humidity in the air, not under UV light, and needs controlled conditions in the workshop for that. It protects against UV radiation, bird droppings, insects and tree sap — it does not make the paint scratch-proof.

On a coated surface dirt finds less to hold on to. The noticeable difference is not the gloss, but how quickly the car is clean again.
Bird droppings and tree sap are acidic and attack the clear coat if they are left to sit. On a coating you have more time before that turns into damage.

Without polishing, whatever is there gets locked in. That is why the coating can only be booked in combination with a polish — not as an upsell, but because otherwise the result does not deliver what it promises.
The polished surface is freed of polishing oils. Even perfectly polished, decontaminated paint will not let the coating bond if oils remain — the manufacturer states exactly that in its own data sheet.
With an applicator, panel by panel, in a controlled quantity. More material is not better protection, it is a source of streaks.
The coating reacts with the humidity in the air and cross-links. That requires temperature and humidity within a defined window — outdoors this cannot be produced.
Visual check under an inspection lamp. You also receive the rules that apply during the first few days and how the car should be washed so that the service life is reached.
A ceramic coating is not stone chip protection — impact energy is absorbed only by a paint protection film. Nor is it scratch-proof: the widely quoted “9H” comes from the pencil hardness scale and corresponds roughly to Mohs 3, meaning it can be scratched with a copper coin. And the service life depends on care: the most common reason for early wear is the wrong washing technique. Anyone driving through a brush car wash after coating shortens it considerably.
The ceramic coating is included in package L and can otherwise be booked as an add-on — always in combination with a polish.
We state up to two years. The actual service life depends on three things: the product applied, the mileage and above all the washing technique. A vehicle washed by hand with pH-neutral shampoo reaches the upper end of the range; a vehicle that regularly goes through a brush car wash considerably less. We would rather give a figure that holds than one that sounds good.
No. That is a widespread mix-up with UV clear coats from body shops. Ceramic coatings cure through humidity — they react with the water in the surrounding air and cross-link. That is why we work in the workshop under controlled conditions and not outdoors.
Technically yes, sensibly only to a limited extent. Brushes are the fastest way to wear a coating down. If you depend on a machine, choose a touchless one. Anyone who really wants to get the most out of the service life washes by hand.
It depends on the remaining term. With one year left, a shorter-term level of protection is the more honest recommendation — the coating should match how long you keep the car, not the invoice. Talk to us about it and we will work it through with you.
